start the 2025 competition season in music city!

On March 14-15, 2025 in Nashville (Lebanon, TN), Smoke on the Shores will host a 100 team professional BBQ competition AND a 50 team backyard BBQ competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS).

KCBS PROFESSIONAL BBQ Competition ($275)

The annual Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship will host professional BBQ competition teams from across the U.S. to compete in four categories: Ribs, Chicken, Pork and Brisket. These professional BBQ teams will compete for prize money totaling over $10,000 and points towards the KCBS national BBQ team of the year. 

The annual Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS). KCBS sanctions and judges BBQ competitions across the U.S. and promotes barbeque as America's cuisine. It is the largest society of barbeque enthusiasts in the world, with over 16,000 members. KCBS sanctions over 300 events across the globe each year.

KCBS BACKYARD BBQ Competition ($200)

In addition to the professional competition, Smoke on the Shores will host a backyard competition. The backyard competition will be a (3) meat competition - chicken, ribs, & pork. We expect 50 backyard teams from all over to come compete for prize money totaling $5,000.

KCBS Friday Night Rib Challenge ($100)

And finally, this year we will be hosting a fun Friday Night Rib Challenge, with prize money totaling $1,500. Both professional and backyard teams can compete and active KCBS teams will receive points of the year points for rib category.
