Allegiance rib challenge
Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship will take place on March 20–21, 2026. This KCBS-sanctioned event will bring together professional and backyard teams from across the country. The competition kicks off Friday night with an Allegiance Rib Challenge, offering $1,500 in cash and prizes. KCBS members will earn points toward Ribs Team of the Year, and the winner will secure an invitation to compete in the Rib Finals at the KCBS World Invitational. All competitors must provide their own meat and pass a mandatory meat inspection

*We are required to file 1099 forms with the Internal Revenue Service for the 2026 tax year for all teams receiving more than $600 in cash/prizes. Each team will be required to complete the 1099 forms prior to receiving funds.
