sam’s club DESSERT CHALLENGE
Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship will take place in Nashville on March 20-21, 2026. This KCBS sanctioned BBQ competition will also have a dessert category, presented by Sam’s Club, in which both professional and backyard teams can compete for the $3000 payout. Plus, the winner receives a Golden Ticket to the World Food Championships Dessert competition.

Rules:
Dessert entries may be prepared off-site BUT cannot be purchased from a store.
Must prepare enough for six (6) Judges. Portions should be in adequate quantity, BUT not necessarily cut into individual serving sizes (for instance, pies and cakes may be presented whole, etc.).
Garnish rules are waived. ANYTHING GOES. However, any obvious effort to identify the source of the entry will be considered marking and will receive a score of “1”.
You are NOT REQUIRED to present your entry in the standard Styrofoam container; however, we are NOT responsible for returning any trays, bowls, decorations, etc.
Be sure to affix the number on top of the turn-in presentation not underneath. Be sure to affix securely. We are not responsible if it falls off.
The container cannot be larger than one person can carry.
Must use a Member’s Mark product in the dessert.
A index card with a brief description of your dessert will need to be turned in with entry.
Top 5 will need to provide recipe.
*We are required to file 1099 forms with the Internal Revenue Service for the 2026 tax year for all teams receiving more than $600 in cash/prizes. Each team will be required to complete the 1099 forms prior to receiving funds.
