Thank you for registering to be a part of the judging process which includes serving as a judge, table captain, assisting with the turn-in/number changing area, left over/grazing table, or in any other volunteer role the reps may assign you to. Please leave your cooler at home. This is a no leftover / take home contest. Judges will be confirmed no later than 1/15.

General Release *

The applicant (“Judge”) releases and forever discharges the James E. Ward Agriculture Center, Kansas City Barbecue Society and Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship, including their sponsors, employees, owners, executives, agents, volunteers, assignees, and successors) (collectively “SOTS) from any and all actions, suits, damages, claims and demands, in law or equity, arising from any loss, damage, or injury, including, but not limited to, those caused by SOTS’ negligent acts or omissions, that relate, in any manner to his, her, or its participation in or attendance at the Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship. To be clear, judge is waiving all rights against SOTS in consideration for being allowed to attend and/or participate in the Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship. Judge grants full permission to SOTS to use versions of their likeness captured on any photographs, video tapes, motion pictures, recordings, or any other recording of the Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship for any purpose. This grant of permission is perpetual, non-exclusive, and royalty-free. This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee. Judge understands and agrees that this waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law. Judge (i) acknowledges that he, she, or it has read and agrees to comply with all rules of the Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship application, and (iii) assumes full responsibility for his, her, or its conduct and compliance.
