The applicant (“Contestant”) releases and forever discharges the James E. Ward Agriculture Center and Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship, including their sponsors, employees, owners, executives, agents, volunteers, assignees, and successors) (collectively “SOTS) from any and all actions, suits, damages, claims and demands, in law or equity, arising from any loss, damage, or injury, including, but not limited to, those caused by SOTS’ negligent acts or omissions, that relate, in any manner to his, her, or its participation in or attendance at the Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship. To be clear, contestant is waiving all rights against SOTS in consideration for being allowed to attend and/or participate in the Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship.
Contestant grants full permission to SOTS to use versions of their likeness captured on any photographs, video tapes, motion pictures, recordings, or any other recording of the Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship for any purpose. This grant of permission is perpetual, non-exclusive, and royalty-free.
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee. Contestant understands and agrees that this waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law.
Contestant (i) acknowledges that he, she, or it have read and agree to comply with all rules of the Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship application, (ii) agrees to notify all members of his, her, or its team about these rules, and (iii) assumes full responsibility for his, her, or its team conduct and compliance.
Cancellation Policy

If you cancel 30 or more days before the event date, a full refund will be issued, minus any PayPal fees. If you cancel within 30 days of the event, and we can fill your spot with a team from our waitlist, you will receive a full refund, minus any PayPal fees. If we are unable to fill your spot, we will roll over your entry for one (1) year. If you do not attend and/or fail to provide any prior communication at least 7 days before the start of the contest, you will not be eligible for a rollover or refund.
